Legend of the Pink Cherry

The highly anticipated Opening Reception of Buff Monster’s “Legend of the Pink Cherry” kicked off Saturday evening at one of our favorite galleries, The Corey Helford. Living in the Art District proved its perks with this one as we made it early enough to graciously receive a few packs of the amazing Melty Misfits collectable trading cards, a meticulous tribute to the vintage Garbage Pail Kid cards of the 80′s.

The energy as usual at Corey Helford was brightly animated. Soft serve ice-creams and other winsome creatures triumphantly warded off evil throughout the show, spreading Buff Monster’s message of joy and happiness. ย The 60 acrylic and airbrushed Melty Misfit pieces were super clean and the 6 ft. tall mural character was a favorite among the crowd. The ‘Pink is Power‘ earmark, of course one of my favorite aspects of Buff Monster’s forte, pulled everything together into a beautiful apex, symbolic of the artists move onto a new chapter.

An added perk… (Arion was very subtly recruited to the Obey/Occupy Street movement, Shout out Obey) Definite props to Buff Monster and Corey Helford for presenting a dope show! The work is on view through May 5th and I highly suggest it!
