Umm, yeah me neither.

This assortment of balloons is a metaphor for how pathetic and downtrodden I’ve felt this week… what the fuck is my problem?

Due to sudden and unexpected circumstance I have not had more than 7 minutes to myself in near six weeks. Every aspect of my life is overflowing with activity (to put it mildly) which I’m beyond grateful for, but the natural instinct to bare my teeth and retreat into silence is starting to take hold. The brief interludes where I find my calm (i.e. meditation i.e. zoning the f ck out), usually first thing in the morning or the very last thing at night has been encrouched upon and seemingly replaced by angry outbursts and outright frustration. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with my zodiac sign, the phase of the moon or whatEVER but one thing I’ve always known to be true is that I absolutely MUST have my alone slash silent time. A means for me to reflect and sort through thoughts accumulated throughout the day/week/month/LIFE and without it, I apparently become completely paralyzed.

This has to be a catechism concerning my patience…right?

I’m fucking failing miserably.

So this is me, taking a deep breath, gathering what poise I have left … I am going to conquer this feeling. Cold, hard silence or not. I am the master of my thoughts and actions.

Time to get my shit together… revisit that whole compassion and composure deal and hopefully become a better person as a result.

Got a taste of the Baja Lyfe at the Nike US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, where board culture is strrrong. Proud of our friends at Nike and Red Bull for always holding it down and super impressed with our new friends of Salted, a bad ass Women’s surf mag. Side note: It took JR 2 days to convince me to go in the water over my knee caps, but floating in the ocean was bliss and the best part of the week.

Fast forward to Saturday Night where we were invited to attend Lucky Rice Night Market, an Asian Cuisine Extravaganza here in LA. hosted by Sang Yoon and featuring 25 different food and drink vendors. Some of L.A.’s finest Executive Chefs presented some of thee best food I’ve eaten all Summer… lucky indeed.

Although we couldn’t completely fend off the work calls, we got some sun and some MUCH needed relaxation time. Mish most definitely accomplished.
